Changelog

What's new in Framy — page 2

Framy product changelog — new features, export improvements, and fixes for the browser iPhone mockup editor. Updated as we ship.

Improvement

Softer free Low quality exports

Free Low quality downloads look a bit softer so the free tier stays clearly distinct from High quality.

  • Low quality free exports render a bit softer
Improvement

Exports up to 30 minutes

Upload and export screen recordings up to half an hour — long demos and walkthroughs no longer get clipped at one minute.

  • Screen video upload and export allow up to 30 minutes (was 3 minutes upload / 1 minute export)
  • Large exports stream to storage without loading the whole file in memory
Feature

Overlay shapes, shadows, and text stroke

Add simple shapes from the toolbar or canvas menu, drop shadows and text stroke on overlays — and the homepage hero keeps a clear background on iOS Safari.

  • Rectangle, ellipse, line, arrow, and polygon overlays from the Shapes toolbar control and canvas Add shape menu
  • Shape properties for color, outline, round corners, sides, ends, shadow, and layout
  • Text and image overlays can add a soft drop shadow with blur, opacity, and offset controls
  • Text overlays can add a solid stroke with color, opacity, width, and corner join
  • Homepage hero video preserves transparency on iPhone and iPad Safari
Improvement

Best-fit devices across every matching frame

Best fit now marks every device that matches your screen video or photo — and in View All Pages it looks at all media in that ratio.

  • Best fit labels every device that matches the current screen video or photo
  • In View All Pages, Change device uses all uploaded media in that ratio for best-fit suggestions
  • Best fit allows a small aspect slack and falls back to the closest devices so suggestions are rarely empty
  • Screen fit (cover / contain / stretch / custom) works again when the device has 3D tilt
  • Device frame in the right panel shows a Best fit label when the current device matches your media
  • 3D export keeps screen media aligned in the bezel without wavy warping or white edge fringes
  • Low quality free downloads render a bit sharper
Improvement

Easier replace, PNG alpha, and smarter canvas copies

Replace screen media with a click anywhere in the dropzone, keep PNG transparency on export, and keep your Templates style when you add canvases or ratios.

  • Uploaded Screen media dropzones open the file picker from anywhere; loading overlay says media, not only video
  • Transparent PNGs in the screen keep their alpha on export — no more noise in clear areas
  • Same-ratio canvases copy pose, text, and styles; new ratios keep the active Templates style; View All Pages zoom stays in-app
  • View All Pages has a Reset project link in the bottom-right corner
Improvement

Smarter apply scope, pack checkout, and mobile toolbar

Choose where looks apply across pages, preview styles and combos more clearly, buy the export pack that fits this download, and use a full-width canvas toolbar on phones.

  • Background, device, and style pickers ask where to apply when you have more than one canvas
  • Style and Combo pickers show live mood and ratio-row previews
  • High-quality checkout opens the 30 or 100 pack that covers this export — with a Need 100 exports instead? link when 30 is enough
  • Mobile canvas toolbar sits flush full-width at the bottom (no floating pill)
  • Add Combo on the board overview opens Templates on the Combo tab; ratio ··· menus edit a whole ratio row
Feature

Layout sets, styles, and platform guidelines

Pick a look and a multi-canvas layout from Templates, preview platform safe zones on social and ads ratios, and keep your frame when you already chose a style — plus bigger high-quality export packs.

  • Templates picker for Styles and Layouts — styles soft-apply; layouts warn before a full reset
  • Show guidelines on platform ratios (Reels, TikTok, Shorts, and more) with color-coded UI, CTA, and edge bands
  • Uploading a screen keeps the current device when a style or layout is already active
  • Up to 100 canvases; high-quality export packs: $1.99 for 30, or $4.99 for 100
Feature

Multiple canvases per project

Build several mockups in one project — group sheets by canvas size, switch between edit and board overview, and export one sheet or everything as a ZIP.

  • Add ratio rows and sheets from the board overview, then jump between them freely
  • Each canvas keeps its own undo history; overview mode is browse-only so shortcuts cannot change sheets
  • Export the active sheet, or download every canvas in a ZIP grouped by ratio folders
  • Local drafts save all canvases; incompatible older saves reset cleanly instead of loading broken
Feature

Background catalog — textures, neon, nature, and more

Dress the canvas with curated photo backgrounds by mood, upload your own image, or pick from refreshed gradients and solids — exports keep the look.

  • Browse curated backgrounds by category (textures, soft washes, neon, cyber, nature, and more)
  • Upload a custom image as the canvas background
  • Refreshed gradient and solid color picks in the same Backgrounds picker
  • Export labels say Low quality / High quality (was Regular)
Feature

Drop a photo into the frame — export PNG

The screen slot accepts stills as well as recordings. Drop a JPG, PNG, WEBP, or GIF from your phone or desktop, preview it in the device, and download a PNG mockup.

  • Upload photos (JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF) or videos into the same screen dropzone
  • Photo mockups export as PNG; video exports stay MP4 or WebM
  • Mute control hides when the screen is a still image
  • Long filenames wrap in the dropzone instead of overflowing
