How to Record Your iPhone Screen and Frame It for Social
Co-founder, Framy
Record your iPhone screen and frame it for social in three steps — capture the flow, drop it into an iPhone shell, and export a clean MP4 free with no watermark.

Posting your app to social has two parts most people treat as one: record the iPhone screen, then frame it so the clip looks like a product instead of a raw capture. Do both and your demo stands out in a feed. This guide covers the full path from capture to a clean, framed MP4.
What you need
- An iPhone
- A browser for framing
- A few minutes
Step 1: Record the flow
Add Screen Recording to Control Center (Settings → Control Center → Screen Recording → +), then swipe into Control Center and tap record. Wait for the countdown, run your app's best flow, and stop when done. The clip saves to Photos. For the full capture walkthrough, see How to Screen Record on iPhone.
Keep the important UI in the center of the screen — that area survives the crop to a social ratio.
Step 2: Trim to the good part
In the Photos app, trim the launch and any dead space. A tight 15–20 seconds holds attention better than a wandering minute.
Step 3: Frame it
Open the Framy editor and drop in the recording. It lands inside a real iPhone frame. Pick from 35 iPhone models and set the ratio for your platform — the iPhone mockup tool handles it in the browser.

- 9:16 for Reels, TikTok, Shorts, Stories
- 1:1 or 4:5 for feed posts
Step 4: Export and post
Export High quality MP4, no watermark. Post it straight to your platform of choice.
Tips for social
- Do Not Disturb on so no notifications slide in mid-demo.
- Lead with the payoff in the first two seconds.
- Big UI text so it reads on a phone inside a frame.
- One recording, many cuts — export different ratios from the same source.
Why the frame matters
A bare screen recording reads as a screenshot in motion and gets scrolled past. The same clip inside a device frame reads as a real app on a real phone, which is what makes people stop. It's a small step with an outsized effect on how the work is perceived — and here it's free.
